 U.S. Representative Mark Pocan met with students at Clark Street Community School on Wednesday, April 23, where he spoke to Ross Cohen’s “History of the LGBTQ Movement” class about his journey, the challenges of today’s political landscape, and ongoing efforts to protect LGBTQ rights.

Lions Park in Mazomanie has seen nearly $600,000 in improvements thanks to an anonymous donor, and the village invites everyone to a weekend-long celebration of the park May 16^th through 18^th.

TOWN OF MIDDLETON – Residents weighed in last week on the prospect of incorporating this town into the village of West Middleton.

MADISON – A Middleton teenager who wants to play lacrosse for Edgewood High School is personally suing the WIAA after they sidelined her chances to fully participate in the sport.  

At the March 24^th Wisconsin Heights School Board meeting, Board President Barb Statz relayed her and fellow board members experiences’ when they met with local legislators. Board members Stats, Matt Crowe, and Dylan Helmenstine met with lawmakers at the Capitol recently. They met with Senator Dianne Hesselbein, Representative Mike Bare, Representative Todd Novak, Representative Alex Joers, and a member of Senator Howard Marklein’s staff. The board members handed out a sheet highlight their top concerns as well as some background information about Wisconsin Heights.

Two agenda items – a report on filling teacher absences in the classroom and an update on
the growing field of artificial information (AI) in the schools—were the main focus for the MCPASD board of education on April 7.

The City of Middleton will celebrate National Library Week on April 12 at the Middleton Public Library by launching its first-ever Bookmobile, according to a proclamation approved April 1 by the Middleton Common Council.

A fire early Wednesday morning in the town of Pine Bluff, located in Cross Plains Township, destroyed two buildings and prompted a multi-agency response. No injuries were reported, but the cause remains under investigation, with lightning being considered a possible factor.
