MIDDLETON–The City of Middleton will be able to move forward with opening some services back up after Gov. Tony Evers slightly loosened restrictions on what can and cannot be open.

The Middleton Public Library and Pleasant View Golf Course will both be allowed to open with some restrictions. Neither can open before the original Safer at Home order runs out on April 24.

Jocelyne Sansing, director of the Middleton Public Library, said in the Good Neighbor Hub meeting last week that she is not yet sure what their opening plan will look like, and did not have a solid opening date at press time. The library will only be able to do curbside pickup.

“It will be a coordinated effort based on interpretation of the order, following a lot along the lines of restaurant curbside pickup,” she explained.

She said that the materials will come from only the Middleton library for the time being, and loans that are in the building that have come from other area libraries can be picked up.

Sansing said she is working with staff on scheduling.

“It will be nice to get back,” Sansing said. “The library has been a very sad and lonely place. This is one step toward (complete) reopening.”

Jeremy Cabalka, general manager at Pleasant View Golf Course (PVGC), said the links would be open again on April 24. He said the facility normally opens sometime between mid March and late March.

There are some restrictions for heading out to the course.

• Clubhouses and golf shops must remain closed.

• All practice areas; including, driving range, practice greens, and chipping areas, must remain closed.

• The use of golf carts is prohibited; tee times are available for walking only.

• Social distancing requirements must be observed at all times, unless the players reside in the same living unit or household.

• Tee times must be spaced to avoid multiple foursomes from clustering or gathering at any stage of the course.

• All seating areas, indoors and outdoors, will be closed.

“We will have the appropriate staff in appropriate locations making sure all is safe; including our own employees,” Cabalka said of measures PVGC is taking to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
