Members of Middleton High School’s Key Club on Monday night appeared before the Middleton-Cross Plains Area Board of Education, laying out their ambitious plans to host a Relay for Life event from 6 p.m. April 20 to 6 a.m. April 21.

The students have formed an organizing committee and hope to attract 30 to 35 teams and raise $20,000 for the American Cancer Society. They are challenging all members of the district community to get involved.
Their presentation appeared to have the desired effect, prompting school board president Ellen Lindgren to pledge the support of the board, and superintendent Don Johnson to offer staff’s help. Board member Bob Green, a cancer survivor, donated cash to their cause on the spot.
