The City of Middleton Has declared June 20 "Van Nutt Day." The proclamation follows:
Honoring Van Nutt’s Sixteen Years of Leadership & Service
on behalf of the Middleton Chamber of Commerce & Proclaiming Thursday, June 20, 2019, as “Van Nutt Day in Middleton”
Whereas, Van Nutt has energetically led the Middleton Chamber of Commerce for the past 16 years, including countless contributions to the Chamber, the business community and the community at large; and
Whereas, Under Van's leadership, the Middleton Chamber of Commerce has grown from a small organization to a thriving organization with over 700 member companies, which employ thousands of South Central Wisconsin citizens; and
Whereas, Van has been a conduit to strengthen critical relationships between and among the Chamber, the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District and the City of Middleton, and the partnership among these parties has never been stronger; and
Whereas, The City has benefited greatly from Van’s presence on behalf of the Chamber at meetings ranging from License & Ordinance to Tourism to Finance and Common Council; and
Whereas, Money Magazine/CNN recognized the City as the “Best Place to Live in America” in 2007 (top 10 from 2005-1013), and Van’s leadership of the business community has been instrumental to the community’s success; and
Whereas, Van’s sense of humor and ability to make connections in the community are tremendous assets, and his shoes will be difficult to fill.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that I, Gurdip Brar, Mayor of the City of Middleton, hereby honor Van Nutt for his long-standing leadership and service to the Middleton community, as well as his and the Chamber’s valuable partnership with the City. I further proclaim Thursday, June 20, 2019, to be “Van Nutt Day in Middleton”. We wish Van and his family well as he begins a new phase of his career as Director of Business Development for Zerology, a start-up company specializing in no emission electric vehicles.
This proclamation is made at a regular meeting of the Middleton Common Council this 18th day of June, 2019.
